I'd love to Audition those two Systems as well. While the Shangri La comes only with amp the He1 also features a DAC and would only need a source.
Also interested in a comparison between Shangri La with its own headamp or Shangri La with a Woo 3ES.

The dac in HE-1 is mediocre at best. I would get separate dac for sure.

No clue. My old Klimax ds sounded way better than the dac in HE1. Even ayre dac was better. They should have just sold the HE1 without dac and save $10k.

I have so many things I want to listen too. I'm almost to the point were I can be content with what I have. I have a Chord DAVE on the way. Along with a set of Hifiman HE-R10P's. Hopefully these two items will satisfy my itch to want to upgrade and allow me to just listen.

You do have the Empyrean, you need nothing else. (Except for maybe the Susvara...)

Agreed, the TC's will sound different than all the headphones he currently has in his collection. The HEKse's are close enough, but not quite, to the sound of the Susvara's sound that he could probably pass on them. Otherwise, get the TC's
