Don't take it seriously. It was just a random off the fly joke. The word "phile" seems more used today in the media as in pedophile so of course, the word is somewhat smeared in a strange way to some people who are not into any hobby.

Hobby's are important so it's good to try to be some kind of "phile" like an operaphile for example. To me, if you have no real hobby or interest and all you do is watch TV like many people, you are lame. You might as well be dead.
