Audioengine A5+ with Laptop - High Quality?

Hi,
 
I currently have the Audioengine A5+ connected to my PC's soundcard's mic out which sounds fantastic for movies & music.
 
But id like to get these connected to a dell xps laptop, presumably using the mic out.
 
 
Can I expect the same quality with a laptop  watching blu-rays or significantly less quality? The A5's have amplifiers so it should not be a problem in qualty as far as i know? If so what recommendations do you suggest?

The only recommendation here would be to put a DAC in between the laptop and the speakers. Your output port on the laptop does not provide great quality as these sound cards are usually crap in laptops. Buying a USB DAC would definitely make a difference in sound quality.
