Alrighit, this has been happening for a while but I've been off at uni so its not bothered me too much. But I want to take my kit over, so I need to get this fixed.

The problem: When listening to audio files, watching dvds, anything which outputs audio; the sound will randomly fluctuate either up or down. These changes last a fraction of a second but are akin to someone quickly turning up the volume dial up and down. It gets really annoying.

The setup: Creative Soundblaster Live! 24-bit sound-card. Creative Inspire T7900 7.1 system.

I have made sure the wires are properly in the speakers, everything is plugged into the subwoofer correctly. Recently I changed it to only 5.1. I have also checked to see whether it is just one speaker which is doing this, or all. It's all.

The volume control isn't moving at all when this happens.

Any ideas? My guess that either the speakers are ****ed, or the volume control thing is ****ed.
