Audio Technica the master of WOOD

if the scratch is on clear coat, it might be fixable by patch it?

I'm not sure would I bother to do that. It's most of the time invisible, I mean I don't spend time peering the earcup with a flashlight or anything. Besides I don't really trust my fixing skills. :yum:

Sadly, I have the same issue with small scuff marks on my W5000. Is there a good method to buff the clear coat and remove scuffs without damaging the wood itself?
Get oil for wood. Consult with someone who does work in wood. It's even good to sometimes use some oil on our woodies nevertheless if you have marks or not.

I asked Audio-technica about how to maintain the wooden cups, they said "clean with dry cloth".
It doesn't provide useful information.
But, I am sure there are ways to polish it like Audeze's shining wooden ring cup.

I used Mothers Carnauba Wax on my ESW9's and the result was amazing:

Nothing will remove scratches :) Unless someone has wood in spray :)

The mothers wax i mentioned doesnt "remove" scratches but it sure fills them in and make them invisible as it does on my vehicle. I also owned a pair of w1000x for several years, and when I applied the wax it restored its bnib mirror finish, 0 scratches at all:

Beautiful! Grandioso is/was definitely a looker. I prefer that orange tint over W1000Z's pale brown.

I took this picture half-accidentally a while ago, perhaps not as pretty but wouldn't call ugly either lol.

I'm re-entering the AT Woody game with the W3000ANV. Was going to buy the L5000 couple years back but didn't. Sold my L3000 to a local friend a few years back. I am a big fan of the Echizen lacquer finished so I do miss my W2002 w/ L3000's transplant driver quite a lot. I used to own the 10VTG, W100, W2002, W11JPN, and L3000...and my favorite was the L3000. I still keep the AT-DHA3000 amplfiier (the companion amplifier of the L3000). Bought the HA5050H couple of years back and plan to keep it for a long long time. This amp sounds absolutely wonderful and can compete with any amplifier out there. It has power and finesse and this is all from a single-end output.

I wanted to chirp in on the AWAS. I have tried it on 3 amps with the same source. I 1st heard it on the Ifi Pro iCAN using the balanced XLR cable. I found the sound was meh. not energetic just boring. I then tried the se cable and it was much better , yet i still wasn’t in love with the cans though. Then I tried my PrimaLuna EVO 300 Integrated. It does not have a XLR connection and so I listened with the se cable.Much better sound. There it is, the sound I was hoping for. Warmth with detail. Space and air. Dynamic yet delicate at the same time. Yesterday I received a Auris Nirvana. I first listened with the single ended cable. This amp is just so smooth. It makes this very musical headphone even more musical. It drives out more details but adds more air and 3D sound. The mids were not quite as forward as the PrimaLuna. I then tried the XLR cable. Holy cow, now this headphone sounds like it is a totl headphone. Everything is better...I mean everything! more dynamic, more bass, tighter impactful bass. The soundstage is as big as you can expect out of a closed back. I can’t get over what I heard. These are my only closed back besides a OLLO S4R (which is phenomenal for its price) and it is such a good compliment to my Utopia and my Verite which I will have soon.
