Today I was putting on my AD2000's (which I probably do about 100 time a freakin day!) and one of the mg headbands broke. Boy, was I bummed. I love these headphones and the thought of being without them was killing me. I searched AT's website and found the US parts email address. I shot off a request for either the part or (if there was more to replacing it than I was thinking) instructions on where to send it. As many of you know, it's a model that isn't imported to the US so I was afraid that I might have to contact someone in Japan and send it there.
I sent that email just before making lunch and by the time I got done (20 min) there was a reply. It was Dave Webb who I'd had great service from before. Attached to his reply was a pdf of the AD2000 with an exploded view of every nook and cranny plus a parts list. This was great since I could see exactly what I needed to do to replace the part and a list in case I need any other bit in the years to come. But here's the kicker, he's sending me the part for free! No shipping charge, no nothing! I guess I shouldn't be surprised since about a year ago, my cleaning lady (I use the term loosely) lost the stylus guard on my AT OC9 phono cartridge and he had a new one in my hand in 3 days,.. free free free!
I had to post something about them since many of us have AT phones and they aren't exactly military grade.
Service and support like the old days? Better I'd say!

I have a similar problem, my pair of ATH-PRO700MS (camo) have a very deep crack on one of the rails that adjusts the height of the headphones, I believe this is due to "DJ" use, by placing one earcup behind my ear. As of now i dont dare touch them, to avoid further damage. Only solution I have in mind is crazy glue (any other suggestions are wecome).

I have contacted AT repairs email with my current situation, along with a photo of the damage. The reply I recieved was a let down: obviously US does not nor never did carry the limited edition camo version of these cans, and the repair would run $82 plus return shipping, yet the offered soultion would replace the the entire headphone assembly with the silver color version that the US does carry (ATH-PRO700SV). This makes very little sense, since the ATH-PRO700SV can be had for +/- $100 brand new from a reseller.

I would appreciate any advice on the matter. Would I have more luck contacting the parts email address, or can someone here possibly provide me with an exploded view/parts list, also possibly a link to somewhere I can purchase replacement parts for AT headphones ?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for posting this. Recently bought ESW9s and love them. Also made another post about the slow service I received buying Grados at a high end shop in Manhattan. For some reason it took over a week to get headphones from Brooklyn to Manhattan and they saw no problem with that. Kudos to AT on this.
