I’m having issues with the R70x sounding phenomenal then them losing their oroginal detail, flatness, soundstage. I was listening to a song then All of a sudden they sounded narrow, clustered and bassy. This is the second pair of R70x this has happened with. Any thoughts?

I sold R70x and rebought it not being very impressed. It does sound narrow, and mid is muddy and bloated, until I pair it with audio Technica HA5000 and wow it’s just so beautiful

I sometimes feel audio Technica headphones are weird as they only sound good when paired with their own amp

Perhaps the cable failed and it switched to mono somehow? Either that or the headphones are defective, or maybe your sound settings changed mid song. But if it happened to two pairs in the middle of a song, I suspect you check the cable to rule that problem out first. They do use a special cable system that automatically gets left and right properly oriented, so if your using a custom cable make sure it is properly designed to be used with the R70X.
