For the price you could get many killer headphones, thats the problem of the wp900, they have some very heavy competition in the sub 700 dlls price range

Yeah me too, good price. here at the 500 range the wp900 are the killers, along with emu teak, fosters, elegias.I got it brand new at a killer price of roughly us$480 so i'm good haha
Or in my case the other at woodies, I like the classic woodies more, the w1000 and w5000, I have a w1000x coming with the intention to replace the wp900 because the emu teaks and elegia couldnt.
I read W1000 series hit or miss for fit and seal, foster TH-X00 was a considerationYeah me too, good price. here at the 500 range the wp900 are the killers, along with emu teak, fosters, elegias.

Never heard the thx00 but based on the teak, they hit similar to the wp900 but with better lower end and worse top end.
I dont think you are missing out
But if the w1000 fits you, you are missing out lol, incredible midrange.

Anymore low end and it's gonna sound overwhelming to meNever heard the thx00 but based on the teak, they hit similar to the wp900 but with better lower end and worse top end.

The pads do get hot, any cooler replacement?
Definitely dont get the thx00 then
Lol y u poison me! W1000x or w1000z pricing is going for abt half the price of my new WP900. How do they compare?Never heard the thx00 but based on the teak, they hit similar to the wp900 but with better lower end and worse top end.

This is why the purposeful open back mods (by a modder that is confirming the changes) for the thx00 are really nice. Really nice all rounder.
For a non-portable closed back w/ wood, it seems the best all-rounder performer currently is the Zmf Verite-closed using the resin-infused wood.
At the moment for closed-backs, the DCA Stealth (extremely pricey) is the best all-rounder clean slate for a closed back. Using purposeful methods to cancel out all the closed acoustic interferences (better done than the Sony R10!)........But it's a hard to drive planar that would need an ibasso dap to drive portabley. (And no wood).
There are many studio closed backs that do this, but they aren't as cool looking as the Wp900.Can you think any other close back that is light, easy to drive, comfortable and easy to wear for long hours outside?
For example, the Shure srh1540.

Not really, thats a huge advantage for the wp900, maybe the sony z7m2 and audio technica msr7seCan you think any other close back that is light, easy to drive, comfortable and easy to wear for long hours outside?
For what it’s worth, I have found my W1000z to do things in the midrange that few (even open) cans can approach. Build quality is fantastic, too. However, a decent seal is critical, and the cups have very limited adjustment. I am fortunate in that I have quite a large head (), and they fit me out of the box…
Also: the W1000z love tubes!
All the Shure srh1540 is too bulky for on the go. I am using this headphone exclusively as mobile devise. As per my review here on head-fi, I consider this headphone top when it comes to a headphone for mobile use. This is why the purposeful open back mods (by a modder that is confirming the changes) for the thx00 are really nice. The sony is way to bulky for mobile use. The AT is nice but very squeaky and too bright for long listening. Also on the go, when out and about, you need a bit of bass slam to overcome external noise. The WP900 delivers on thatNot really, thats a huge advantage for the wp900, maybe the sony z7m2 and audio technica msr7se
