The HD600 doesn't actually cut it unfortunately.

I hear you, cans brighter and snappier than HD 600 would surely do better in FPS games. @DivineCurrent brough up AKG K7XX and I imagine something like K701 would boost key sounds you need.

hey guys sorry to hijack
I have trouble selling my tube amp which delivered consistently powerful results with the R70X when I had them.
It is the go-to pairing for my R70X which gave it a new life and sheer musicality to it.
If a small budget is of no concern, do drop me a PM

Is bass in r70x more accented?
I would say the R70x has more quantity bass than the 560S, not necessarily more accented. In fact, the 560S might have faster and tighter bass, to my ears as least. Though I think the R70x does have fuller bass and lower midrange, which I like more.

Anybody have issues with their R70x sounding phenomenal then them losing their oroginal detail, flatness, soundstage. I was listening to a song then All of a sudden they sounded narrow, clustered and bassy. This is the second pair of R70x this has happened with.

Not at all. Mine are sounding better than ever with the upgraded cable I have attached to it.

Out of curiosity, what cable was your upgrade?
I went with the Lavricables Ultimate Silver and it is a fantastic pairing. The sound is more open, bass tighter, and there’s more overall clarity. It sounds like a different headphone that scales very well.

The name Lavricables sounds familiar, thanks for sharing and enjoy :)

No, haven't experienced anything like that. To me, it seems more likely to be a problem with your amp or some other part of your system.

It’s called listening to music when you’re not really in the mood or conversely simply lusting for a new sound signature. It can happen if one listens to the same headphone for a good amount of time. It’s not really because the headphone changes but because you yourself change or your tastes do. I have a friend who bought a Utopia. He loved it and sold off all his other headphones until he one day felt similar to what you are feeling. ‘Where’s the magic gone?!?’
I popped over with a couple of headphones (HD600 and K712) and he ended up prefering both of those over the Utopia. Fast forward a couple of months with him selling his Focal flagship and having bought both the Sennie and the AKG..and he then tried the Utopia again and was absolutely taken aback by the sound quality. He now owns all three and is very careful with what he sells off:)

I’m pretty sure it’s not that for two reasons. 1. The change was instant in the middle of a song. 2. When I exchanged the first pair there was a crossover period where I listened to the two different pairs back to back and there was a noticeable difference
