Just a quick mention in an e-earphone blog, IIRC. No real 1100 vs. 1000 comparison yet that I saw. Though someone here who has the CKS1000 just ordered an 1100.

Cks1100 impressions.

The treble has fleshed out enough to have the details necessary to sound smooth, lack in peaks,a nd lack in grain that the ckr9s sometimes had. The ckr9's treble sometimes lacked the weight to it, making it sound a bit like a splash sometimes, but I hadn't noticed it till this in-ear came along.

The guitars, electric guitars, bass guitars, most guitars sound satisfying with the cks1100s. Thanks to jant's help, the fit issue I has been resolved, helping me hear amazing detail from the up front presentation of the in-ear.

Don't be afraid of the intrusive presentation though, as the bass and treble are equally intrusive as the mids. Thus, the whole sound spectrum is forward in your face. Mitigating this issue is simple.

The depth, height, width, and layering of instruments are fantastic. The in-ear truly does sound like it's a whole level of reality over its ckr brothers. Thanks to the sub-bass to mid-bass quantity amounts of this in-ear, this in-ear should take the crown over the performance level of all ckrs in existence.

Thanks for the solid impressions! Does the upfront presentation affect soundstage though? Meaning is it narrower than the CKRs?

I bought these...

..and I'll try them out on the CKS1100. The KZ whirlwind wide bore are supposed to be quite good on the CKR's and the flocked is one I always was itching to try

That will take place sometime depending on China Post or e-packet or whatever.

Though they will be good just how good? I know already that I prefer tips on the shorter side, wide bore and firmer which is the description of the whirlwinds.

Is CDJapan still the best place to get these babies?

Not on CDjapan at the moment.

Auditioned the CKS1100 a couple of days ago, and immediately fell in love with its sound. A more mids-forward CKR9, with a better textured bass presentation and more impactful lows. The CKR9 still edges the CKS1100 in micro detail retrieval and overall clarity (by a bit), but loses out to the CKS1100 in everything else.

Anyway, I walked out of the store a happy CKS1100 owner.

Is the bass more toward boomy, full-bodied with slower decay, or tight fast and impactful?

It is full bodied, tight, quick, and impactful. Though the right fit/tips and a good source synergy help to give you everything but they can/have potential to do every single thing you might want in your bass.
