I am looking down the track to purchase a set of Noise Cancelling headphones, I have looked at both the Audio Technica ATH ANC7B or the Bose Quiet Comfort 3, though to be honest I do like the AT better, sorry I am not a Bose person but in someways I do quite like their Quiet Comfort 3.

1. Out of the two which is a better noise cancelling headphone?
2. Re to SQ which one is better (in your personal opinion)
3. Which one of more comfortable ?
4. Which one has better batt life?
5. If you had a choice which would be your pick?
6. I can get the ATH ANC7B from Ebay Australia and thats 100% genuine with
world wide warranty for $AU172.95, they retail for bit over $400 in the sept stores here in Australia.
7. Will probably require a headphone amp/cmoy to run these as they are 260 ohms rated impedance.

I own the ANC7s (the previous version to what you are looking for) and after just demoing a pair of Bose QC15s(it replaces the QC3s) I will be getting a pair of Bose soon. The sound quality is about the same (yeah, shocking, go hear a pair today and stop going by what you heard in the 90s)as the Audio Techs though you can get the ANC7s pretty cheap on Amazon. But the Bose blows the Audio Techs away , and yes I mean blow away in noise canceling. I don't know if its the two mics per side or the new memory foam pieces that surrounds your ears but man you can hear more details from your ipod because you hear less outside noise. And thats what counts when on a plane.

So go to the nearest Bose store with your own ipod and try them out.

Some reviews of Noise canceling from writers that also write for Absolute Sound.

Audio Technica's are the better sounding and better buy. The NC however is better on the Bose (but they sound sloppy).

I would really recommend a set of IEMs for noise isolation: SE530, Westone 3 are the two best for isolation sound and sound better than any Noise Canceling headphone.
