Audio Technica ATH-AD700 is better than the Senn HD555 right???

I can not for the life of me decide what to get for my first foray into the audiophile world. These will mostly be used for gaming and listening to music off of my pc. I'll probably get a EMU 0404 USB for my DAC/AMP but the cans i cant decide on. I think that it's between the HD555($110) AD700($129) or HD595($175). What should I do?

havent heard the 555 but ive had the 595. both are equally good and really depends on your preference.

why would one choose the ad700 over the hd595? or the hd595 over the ad700?

I can't speak for the Sennheiser models since I haven't tried them but I really love my AD700's because they are supercomfy, have great detail and just sound great all round.

Sure they might be a bit bass shy but they don't sound bad with any type of music.

comfort level, the ad700 has a bigger driver vs the senns. the senns will have a better bass with tube amp and the ad700 has less bass than the senns. detailwise iirc the ad700 is better than the senns
