Audio Technica Ath Ad 700's Question!

I got some AD 700's which are very good! I use them on the pc and I use onboard audio card from my motherboard. I was wondering if purchasing a

How much would buying one of these and using it instead of onboard audio card improve my gaming audio experience for things like directional positioning and what not.

The surround sound processing will really blow up the AD700's already large soundstage. You'll quite like it for gaming.
