I like the black finish a lot more then the normal blue finish on the A900

well, theyre not going on sale in japan til 11/25, and theyre a might bit expensive compared to their blue brothers ($310 US vs $195 US)

Yes, the ATH-A900LTD was briefly mentioned in the ATH-W5000+HA5000 thread. It will be released (in Japan) on the 25th November, but seems like you are able to order from bluetin.com (or at least they have already listed it on their website)

Yea, I was just looking at bluetin and they are already up for sale (at least on bluetin) But or the price I might consider a pair of ath-w1000

These look to have the same earpads of the ATH-A1000, which were more robust and comfortable than the ATH-A900 (standard) pleather earpads. Also, the cable is a dual-entry version, which only the higher-end ATs have (W2002 & L3000) - I too would take this new A900 over the W1000, but my hatred of (or rather "distaste" for) the W1000 is known.

No love for the W1000, NeilPeart? I have to admit the sound of W1000 is a stand out sound away from the more traditional ATH-W sound. I understand why it would appeal to some not others. I too like the A900 sound, and have high hopes for the A900LTD, lol.

Those new A900's look great. If they can improve on the A900 while keeping it's good qualities it should be a good headphone.

Why excatly are the LimEd phones so much more expensive than the regular ones? Just b/c they're black and have nicer pads? Any of you guys know?

It's because they use better parts, for example the site says that the diaphragm usede are the ones from the highest-end can (最上級機譲りのダイヤフラムを採用した). So the same as the L3000?.
