I just noticed these two headphones on AudioCubes. They seem to be brand new closed headphones from Audio-Technica.

ATH-A1000X: AudioCubes.com - Audio-Technica ATH-A1000X Art Headphones - ATH-W1000
ATH-A2000X: AudioCubes.com - Audio-Technica ATH-A2000X Art Headphones - ATH-A2000X

It says that they're available on December 5th. They're expensive though. The ATH-A1000X cost 699.99 USD while the ATH-A2000X cost 899.99 USD. I wonder if they're worth that much since the Denon AH-D5000 and AH-D7000 are similarly priced.

It's definitely a lil pricey.. and the driver may be the same in both headphones.

Better wait for the actual release before pre-ordering any of this toys. Like often the price should drop.

First: There's already a thread about those so you might want to join in there.

Second: These are not going to have same drivers. (It's not a denon

)

Third: The initial street price is 25-35% below the MSRP and after that it's not going much lower until a headphone isnt in production anymore. No need to wait after it's release. Only the exchange rate might change to the better.

I tried ordering a pair of the ATH-2000X off of Amazon Japan but they won't ship to the states. The price with tax was something like 32,000 Yen or appx. $340. I already have about 10 pairs of good headphones but I am addicted. Why are these so much more through Audio Cubes. Is there anyone who lives in Japan and will let someone ship to them and then send them on to the U.S. I would be happy to pay a $50 fee using PayPal.

I would like to see some reviews. I am planning on doing a massive review of about 10 different headphones using several different amps. Everything for K702 to a Denon D2000 with Lawton cups. It will, of course, just be my opinions. I have had quality earphones (if Etymotic ER-4p count) for about 10 years. HD650s and Beyer DT880s for 2-years. I have so many pairs I can't keep up with them. I hope to be able to offer some advice to people just getting into headphones. This site has been great for me. I have read many reviews and sent PMs to Skylab and others who have been willing take time to give me advice.
Anyway, I am always excited about something new and different. Of course, my wife thinks I am insane.
