Audio Research VS55 vs BAT VK-55

Anyone heard either of these two amps?
The BAT lists for $3995, the ARC for $2495. The ARC can be had on Audiogon for $1250 or so, the BAT will be quite a bit more. Both will fit in my rack but will probably run pretty hot given a somewhat restricted space.
Appreciate any feedback from anyone whose heard either or who can make a "best guess" based on experience with other products from the same company.

The ARC VS55 is great. I auditioned it in Santa Monica. Vocals are amazing!
All gear used was ARC. The CD3MKII is great also.
I'd like to setup it up with my Audible Illusions M3A, but it is lots of money.

Just the CD3MKII is $5,000.00. Oh, I would have to get better speakers and cables also. Perhaps, another $15,000.00 would do it.
