Hello Head-Fi, as I already said in the title, I want to buy a nice pair of cans for under 200€. I want them to be open-back and more on the bassy side. I do not own either an amp nor a DAC yet, but if needed, I may be able to extend the budget accordingly. I will not order from countries that are not part of the EU, since I had an unpleasant experience with VAT and customs a while ago, but I will buy second hand (ebay-kleinanzeigen) if I can. If any other information is needed, please tell me so I can either reply to your question or add it to the thread.

Also, I hate the look of the DT770-DT990 so I will not buy those.

The Beyerdynamic DT770 32ohm is well within your budget. The higher model numbers have different tuning, so don't assume they're direct upgrades.

those are closed back tho
Oh sorry--I totally forgot that part. Hopefully someone can chime in with a better sub 200€ option.

If you’re going to make the plunge, then I’d recommend a DAC/AMP. Nonetheless, if your looking for a bassy headphone, then the Meze Audio 99 Classics or Neo should fit within your budget:thumbsup:

...also closed back....

Bass heavy open back under 200 Euro.? Look at a used Philips Fidelio X1 or X2.

Glad I'm not the only one that heard bassy and recommended a closed back...

I think HD650 will be too much for a beginner to handle.

But those are closed backs
Yes they are… my mistake. How about Sennheiser HD560, or Philips Audio Fidelio X2HR? Both have good bass.
