Hey guys,

I recently asked for recommendations as to what my new AMP / DAC combo should be, as my onboard sound wasn't nearly good enough to drive my new beyerdynamic Amiron Home's effectively.

Upon recommendation I bought the Audio-GD NFB 11.28 AMP / DAC combo from Magna Hifi with the TXCO upgrade.

Everything is nice so far, the sound is astonishingly good and detailed (e.g. hearing pedals from the piano being pressed). The only thing that bugs me is the noise floor. I love to listen to my music fairly loud. So loud, that I constantly get a continous hissing, which I read is the noise floor. I can clearly hear the noise floor when on low gain above 12 o'clock on the potentiometer and over 9 o'clock on high gain. The problem is, I prefer to listen to music at higher volumes than that, thus giving me permanent noise floor when not listening to anything.

Is there anything I can do about it?

Help is really appreciated!

Thank you very much for reading, greetings!

P.S.: I'm really sorry if I've missed to mention something crucial.

How do you have the NFB-11.28 connected to the source (USB, optical, coaxial)?
If connected by USB, have you tried optical?
Is the NFB-11.28 and source (PC?) power cords on the same power strip/surge protector?
