I asked Mr. Kingwa and he said in the next firmware update Singularity will have both 2 firmware (Master and NOS) in 1 device. So the Singularity will run as Master or NOS base on user selection. Could you please confirm about that Mr. @Kingwa ?
I sent my Nos11 (buy used) to dealer to change from RJ45 to HDMI and update firmware to V2 too. But in my memory, bass is not as deep and punchy as on my X20 but micro detail is better. I don't care much about the bass because I don't listen EDM, the reality bass of my favorite music is not too much, even with live listening.
I have NOS11 with v2 firmware and I find the pairing with HD800S extremely satisfying. For some type of music and/or recording I am adding some more bass presence via EQ (Foobar2000 basic equalizer).
The Senns can go very deep even in the sub bass range when eq'ed, with little or no distortion to my ears, while admittedly showing some loss in transient and bass punch.
This is somewhat OT, but I am also about to replace the RJ45 I2S with the HDMI I2S module and was curious if anyone had a recommendation for a very short HDMI cable.

these cables are made from quality materials and feel incredibly well made in the hands. I got pangea AC and USB cables plugged into my nos 11, wouldn't want anything more.
Hi guys,
I am planning to buy a Nos 11 or a new Singularity M11. Regardless the programmable chip for easy upgrade, is there any other design change to improve the SQ? I am not a technical guy, so that I probably won't upgrade the software or change the setting very often. I just want to make a right purchase and then enjoy the music.
If the new Singularity has some significant improvement of SQ I will go for it, otherwise I will to stay with NOS11 which seems more simple to use. I just sold my LD mk6+, there will has no music for a while.
Look over in the Master-7 thread for atomicbob's review of the new Singularity 7. The improvements are not just upgradeability, but a better DAC altogether, with much less difference between inputs (as opposed to the older generation, which only shined with I2S sources).

I just swapped the RJ45 I2S for HDMI I2S and liking what I'm hearing. Thank you for the cable recommendations, I went with a Wiredworld chroma 7 for now. Immediately I notice an improvement to impact / dynamics. There seem to be other improvements that aren't jumping out at me, need to do some critical listening.
