Which amp must I buy with my good AKG K701?
a. Audio GD C2C
b. MF X-Can V8

The two amps are available in our area. The Audio GD C2C costs $300. The MF X-Can V8 costs $400. All prices are brand new units.

Please vote. Thank you.

I'm enjoying the V8P tremendously with my k701's (see signature). I auditioned a few more inexpensive SS amps, like the Corda Headfive and Amp1, which both did a nice job with the K701, especially the Corda. But the V8p offered an airiness that the other amps lacked. Soundstage is significant, and there is more than enough power for the K701's. I rarely get above 11:00 on the volume pot. Zero hum or noise, excellent response, with crisp and well delivered mids. I haven't rolled any tubes, in fact I haven't opened it yet to see what tubes came with it as I understand there were a couple different stock tubes shipped with these amps. I do find that I need to EQ some more bass into some of my music. I'm so used to listening to my music through a sub-woofered system, in my car and in my home theater, so to get my music to have the same feel as I'm used to, I have to EQ it. Not much, just a few db tweak on the 31.5, 63, 125 bass end. Doing so creates a total satisfaction I can't describe, fantastic detail, airiness, and deep deep bass that never distorts or clips. Using an EQ has saved my sanity, as it will prevent me from a tube rolling addiction or a headphone flipping spree. Now I just listen and smile.

I personally vote for the V8P. It's a tremendously good amp for the money.

I'd consider the new C2 over the C2C, but otherwise it'd be interesting if someone actually compared both.
