Audio DiffMaker: ...is a freeware tool set intended to help determine the audibility of things intended (or expected) to change sound quality in an audio playback system. It finds the absolute difference between two audio recordings.

The difference recording that results is only what has changed between the two recordings. The end result is primarily intended to be evaluated by ear....

The procedure used in the programm mentioned above is nothing new. It's one of the reasons why it's usually rather hard to find a technically skilled person beeing a cable cultist at the same time.

The fact that no manufacturer or hifi-mag utilizes it for marketing purposes, makes it very likely

there are no differences to be found bigger than the inaccuracies of todays recording technologies. Which is, actually, pretty small.

In other words: Whatever differences we may talk about here (that may be not presentable with this method), they have to be so small they don't survive a single A/D conversion.
