So im considering a Audio Advantage Micro for my laptop, i also use a PA2V2 and want to know if i should run it through the Audio Advantage Micro? I read that the Audio Advantage Micro already has an amp built into it, so should i re-amp it? I would like to just use it as a line out to my PA2V2, but if there will be minimal difference i would like to just sell my PA2V2.

Thanks for the help guys.

I didn't notice much difference between TBAA and TBAA+PA2V2 with V6's. Not enough to justify the extra cost, in my mind. Didn't try it with my other headphones. YMMV.

I hestitate to suggest it, just because I think the upgrade treadmill is crazy, but at the cost of those two components, you're kinda sorta in the ballpark of the U24, which sounds worlds better to my ears than the TBAA, and doesn't need an amp (an amp helps, but it's really quite good without one.)

Well, 2/3'rds of the way there anyway. Lots of wow factor between the TBAA and U24, IMO. My latest upgrade from the U24 to the MicroDAC wasn't near as big a change.

If you're using the amp for another source as well, there's no reason not to. But by itself, the TBAA just isnt a good enough source to justify dropping many times its cost; the improvement isnt overwhelming, and you'll never get the bass out of it you could with better pc sources.

But it sounds like you have nothing to lose by buying the TBAA, and testing it out with your amp before deciding if you want to let it go.
