Audeze Penrose X and Penrose

So this is a stereo headset, with no built-in 3D multi-channel virtualization (like Waves NX)? And no built-in decoding of Dolby, DTS or any other multichannel encoded bitstreams? It just plays back whatever already encoded stereo signal is given to it?

Further, what is the true measured "low latency" in actual ms?

Also, can the new "broadcast quality mic" be attached to Audeze Mobius? (they are both detachable, are the connector/electrical specs the same)?

Yes no built in virtualization.

2.4GHz Wireless latency is ~14 ms, which is about 3-5X better than low latency BT (AptX-LL).

Yes they are mechanically and electrically compatible.

So I saw that the PlayStation/PC master race edition will support tempest audio from the ps5. Is it a basic implementation or do we not know since the console isn’t out? Also will the mobius work with whatever witchcraft the tempest audio from the ps5 makes use of?
Penrose is a stereo headphone. It will support whatever PS5 gives out via it's stereo headphone output. We don't yet know what PS5 will give out through that. It's down to Sony.

What's the battery life?
are the batteries, user-replaceable, when they die?
Can they work if they are completely dead?
is there a replacement plan or planning to have one, after these units are been out for a while and batteries start to diminishing its capabilities?

Being able to simultaneously connect wirelessly to console and bluetooth to a phone, does that apply to just chat or basically anything? For example can I listen to podcasts from my iPhone via bluetooth, youtube videos, Apple Music, etc while getting all game audio too? How do both of them work with game/chat mix?
Yes any BT source but no mix control for BT + Wireless. you will have to change it at the source individually
Lastly, does the Penrose have the gel pads that can be ordered for the Mobius or the standard Mobius like pads?
No the earpads are similar to the standard Mobius earpads.

Battery life: ~15hrs when playing white noise at 85dB (DRP)
Battery is not user replaceable, they need to be shipped to us for replacement if needed. Penrose is an active only headset; so it will not work if battery is completely drained.

@Audeze - Will there be dongle for Xbox X and PS4/5 for sale individually separate from the headset, so that we don't need to get two headsets if we have both systems?
Yes, we plan to sell the dongle separately at some point.
EDIT: We do not know right now

Ooh, much want. I'm tired of using my cheapo $2 mic for Warzone.

Now that these systems have their own audio engines, we no longer need external headphone virtualization tech. Just hoping the one on the PS5 works as well as all the stuff I've used for years. Atmos on the Xbox works like a dream.

The price is also going in hard. Considering how great the Mobius sound is, this should be an easy win for you guys.

How come it needs a dongle to connect to Xbox? Several headsets like razer nari and steelseries 9x among others can connect wirelessly to the console directly
Even if it did, I'd still want a dongle so it could be used on PC without needing to default to Bluetooth.

Can the Xbox deliver the same performance as that dongle? I strongly doubt it.

Using the Wireless dongle provides the option of being able to us the same headset with different platforms (PC, MAC, PS, Switch etc) not just Xbox. Also Xbox wireless has latency of 77ms while Penrose uses a low latency wireless connection that has about 5x lower latency.

In the future, will you implement surround sound like you did with the Mobius? Will the Mobius continue to be sold or discontinued? What is the impedance (ohms) on the cable for the Penrose if I want to connect the 3.5mm cable to an amp? Thank you in advance.
