There's plenty of products that work away from PCs yet need a PC to update or access some functions.
These are advertised as having a Mac app to update them. They currently don't.
Perhaps those without access to the ability to update should've thought about that before just jumping in, and then complaining they can't update.
These are advertised as having a Mac app. I have a Mac. I thought when I bought them that I had the ability to update them. It is not my fault that I was misled. I have every right to complain I cannot update them in this instance. If a car stereo was advertised as having a variety of advanced functionality, but you later found out that you actually had to go to the garage every time you wanted to adjust it, you wouldn't' just brush this off as, well sometimes it is what it is.
For example: printers can work without PCs yet need to access PCs to update.
These are advertised as having a Mac app. How are you not getting this? If they had said at the time of purchase, that there's only a Windows app, a Mac app will be coming in 2021 then I'd have no right to feel aggrieved. But they don't. There are issues with this headset that are very clearly documented in this thread and that are accepted by Audeze. The solution to fix these is with the app that doesn't exist for a lot of users, despite their website not saying this.
It may not be the most convenient outcome, but sometimes it just is what it is. Find someone with a pc.
This is such an unhelpful comment. Firstly, in the UK we have lockdown restrictions in place preventing most of the country entering the household of others. Secondly, I shouldn't have to drive to a friends house to update my headphones that are advertised as coming with a Mac app.
I understand you get free stuff sent from Audeze so you don't like to admit when they do things badly, but to belittle consumers concerns isn't helpful. It's extremely frustrating, actually. From the Audeze website: "The Audeze HQ apps for Android and Windows/Mac desktop systems enable a variety of advanced functionality for the Penrose and Penrose X. Featuring a 10 band graphic EQ interface, sidetone toggling, and real-time voice-to-chat mix for Xbox Series X, Audeze HQ gives gamers unprecedented control over their audio experience."
They need to caveat this with timescales for when the apps will be available so those who receive these headphones with known issues have some idea for when they can have them fixed via this firmware.
