I can echo the sentiment here that this only makes Audeze higher on my list of priority for audio purchases, and it was already at #1! Good will like this creates customers for life.

I was afraid the hiss would destroy the momentum of Mobius in the retail market, but with how this situation was handled I predict Audeze will end up selling even more Mobius units! Really hope that it’s a stunning success.

I use this extension cable which boosts the USB signal so I don’t really have to worry about cable length, and it works just fine with no stuttering problems.

Thanks guys. Looks like monoprice has a similar one here and in 3.0 flavor! Does using an active cable impede the Mobius' ability to charge during use?

@Audeze Spectacular update! Not just because it is good news for consumers, but it shows your vested interest in your ALL your customers. You also addressed and fixed some other concerns within the update. I truly hope this becomes the most popular gaming headset on the market.

I will gladly continue to listen to my LCD-3 while i wait for my Mobius . If any of you are having a hard time waiting for your Mobius... I highly recommend buying another headphone from them to enjoy in the mean time. I love all the LCD line... but the 3's are my baby.

...You may have misread the graph, the noise floor is at -110dbV

The graph's level itself doesn't mean too much, depending on the FFT parameters you can create very different ones with the same noise. Anyway it's referenced to the absolute voltage of the amplifier, not the acoustic output of the driver.

What would be more interesting to me is the absolute value of the acoustic noise's sound level in dBAeff SPL, before and after the mod.

For those not familiar with this: 0dBAeff SPL would be the threshold of hearing for a young person's healthy hearing.
Usual, non- annoying noise levels in quiet privat rooms are about 30 dBAeff SPL without air conditioning and 40 to 50 dBAeff SPL with quality AC.

Finally the only thing that counts: is the noise audible or annoying to a certain amount of people.
I appreciate very much your high effort to bring it down below that range.
The positive side of this: the mod brings up the quality of the product one notch, which might pay off in future sales.

Final question: are the top 20 tier (Germany) ones already shipped, because I go to holiday and have to arrange pick up in case.

The Nvidia Shield USB output only supports stereo. This works with Mobius over USB stereo.
The 5.1 pass through is only through HDMI at the moment. The Nvidia shield also supports LDAC over bluetooth and works really well.

Not sure something like this will work. We expect new streaming devices with 5.1 support over USB perhaps early next year.
