Lasik, contact lenses or glasses with very slim temples (titanium ones). Or I guess Morpheus glasses would work as well. Changing earpads doesn't make your glasses go away, just changing the sound (generally for the worse).

:)

Unfortunately Lasik reduces your max correctable vision and would give me worse results than with my glasses. I really need whatever vision I have left.

Dekoni makes a point of saying "every dekoni employee wears glasses, so their pads sound good with glasses." Not sure if there is a dekoni pad that fits Mobius.

Thanks for the tip!

Dekoni also makes a point of being far too expensive. Brainwavz pads are the absolute maximum of what I would spend on a piece of discarded leather and some tiny piece of foam as long as I "know" that there is a headphone that really needs those pads to sound great.
Those prices are just surreal and tbh. complete and utter prove of the fact that we as audiophiles can easily loose perspective.

I don't know, I purchased alpha dog pads for my ATH-A2000Zs and they were worth it in my opinion. I wear glasses and there was a noticeable improvement in bass quality and extension.

But with my X-Box One S, I do have Dolby Atmos Headphones already installed.

How well does the built in Atmos or Windows Sonic go with the 3D tracking on the Mobius?

Am very interested in how 3rd party VSS's "improve" with headtracking enabled.

After a few days of getting used to the head tracking, it becomes very natural and fluid. Atmos is a nice upgrade over not having it, but it's not huge (that's Atmos' issue as there are still only 2 speakers after all). I also have the Turtle Beach Elite Pro MixAmp on hand to play with both the PS4 and Xbox One S and 7.x digital processing. Haven't had a lot of time yet to play with it and the Mobius, but I will for the review.

Burn-in is mostly psychological. Listeners get used to the sound signature and begin preferring it. lol Responding to the post @RamSpencer deleted.

For that reason I think audiophiles including myself rarely love a pair of headphones upon first listen, but begin to love it over time.

For that reason I think audiophiles including myself

I don't think any "self proclaimed" "audiophile" would even deign to spend time with a wireless, USB, DSP containing VSS Bluetooth "gimmick" such as the Mobius

I've bought in for the "gimmicks"

Can't wait for the "audiophile" comments about the unit.

I'm after the fun and the tech, not the "lush, chocolatey resolving in the mids"

If these things need any sort of "burn in" for the headtracking and spacialisation to work then I'll become a celibate monk.

I get @MacedonianHero saying it can take a bit of getting used to, but damn - it's either there or it isn't.

Movies, games and maybe mobile media content I can see these becoming the next big step forward (maybe a leap with the tracking tied onto the VSS) but it's on the tech side, not the audio side.

Audio wise - we'll still be limited with the inbuilt dac/amp and the closed back headphones we're getting in the unit we get. (not having a go at any of it - it's sure to be awesome - or at least acceptable.)

To be fair, I do think Audiophiles are coming around to..........

Nah - they're not.

When music starts being acceptable in more than 2 channel - then they're coming around.

Not from a listening experience - from a production side of things,

R.E.M. 1992? album remastered for a small part of a collectors set?

A few concert DVD's in different flavours of surround?

And Chesky's stuff?

Pearl Jam's "Binaural" album did sweet F.A

No one with money is even considering moving away from 2 speakers - at either end of the food chain.

So wrong at both ends of the spectrum - imagine how many more $xxk speaker units they could sell if every high end setup needed 5, 7, 12 units instead of just the 2 and a sub?

Imagine how much better music would sound if it was recorded for object orientated placement rather than just 2 fixed points?

Imaging and soundstage could become actually defined

"Oooh - sounds like you're in the 3rd row" could become "Yeah - was on the 4th seat of the second row. The person behind me was chewing gum the whole concert" :p

ATMOS etc, streaming music, internet sharing, tech and cheap phone audio are heading towards making the shift easier - home "stereo setups" may become less and less "the norm" as time goes by

That all sounds great but the mainstream is leaning further towards prioritizing convenience over all else. If you can't fit all the audio and assorted functionality into a wireless speaker the size of a box of tissues, most people won't care. The Mobius' AIO solution is unique.

Audiophile imo just means caring about the way audio sounds, not necessarily needing lossless audio played through an open-back headphone connected to a tube amp to enjoy music. There are audiophiles who love AirPods for various reasons. I’m sure they can warm up to a portable Audeze headphone and give it credit where it’s due for its sound. Bluetooth is at the level where many audiophiles can happily use it, and I think the amp/DAC in Mobius will punch above its weight.

Audiophiles exist on a spectrum- you’ll always have died in the wool old school people who are set in whatever their way is. There’s a large base of people who are either pragmatic or discovering these qualities (Gen Y) and because they purchase said approaches, that segment of the market is expanding.

Let's not forget the LDAC support for higher bit rate support for wireless music. And as far as audiophile rules, I go by only one: "if it sounds good, then it is good". :)
