Actually in America the announcements for this headset said shipping late December.

Where did you see a late December shipping date? As I remember it they said January when announced.

In every announcement I saw on any tech media about the Maxwell in early December all said Audeze expects them to ship in late December.

They were basically just regurgitating press releases from the company itself, on the specifications, the price, and the release date.

It was always late December.

I don't dislike Audeze. I have a pair of LCD2 closed backs arriving on Tuesday. My most expensive headphones ever.

When I heard the Penrose I immediately knew they were better than any other wireless gaming headset I've ever used, and why I decided to return them and jump on the Maxwell pre-order. So I have nothing against the company, I can't wait for my Maxwell and hope they live up to expectations.

But I can still say they really fumbled this release big time. They have no clue when the Xbox ones are coming out at all at this point.

Yes but you have to take this simple fact into Consideration the delay is in Microsoft’s end. That’s it. I understand your viewpoint very well but it’s flawed. You aiming your disappointment at Audeze when the delay is with another company. Case in point the ps units are shipping soon. Yet Xbox ones are delayed.
You think they're shipping soon lol. Mad Lust Envy said even that the PS versions shipping soon is optimistic and not to be overly confident in that. It was the same with Penrose. The PS versions were slightly ahead of Xbox on that too if I remember, correctly (certification reasons one again I believe). So yeah, I wouldn't be shocked if PS versions didn't ship soon. Basically we'll get them when we get them.

Maybe Audeze’s inability to get the firmware in a usable state caused delays with Xbox certification.

It feels like they fumble every release. They should license other companies to use their audio tech. They are great at sound quality, but suck at everything else.

No the delay is because Microsoft have a huge backlog to deal with.

I think you're getting your wires crossed everywhere I've seen said January.

I'm not sure that's correct though. Both here and their website it looks like Audeze said January even very early on. Obviously January was wrong too, but I don't think they ever said December officially

Proshop just sent mail.
New expected delivery date: 10-03-2023 (Xbox)

Question:
I just bought a Yeti X mic.. First mic I ever bought, normally I just use the headset mic.
Should I still be buying the Maxwell? Or is there a Planar headset without a mic that would be better? I do play lots of games, but I also enjoy having sound for listening to music. I'm looking for something in the similar price range.

That's not what was said in every announcement that used Audeze's boilerplate when announcing the Maxwell. You can find it in any publication from early December when they were announced. I probably read at least 10 announcements about the launch when I first heard of them to see if I could get any different details. Nope, they all said the same stuff, straight from Audeze's PR, and they ALL said late Dec 22. Every tech media did not make this up. This all came from Audeze's PR.

https://www.theverge.com/2022/12/8/23499802/audeze-maxwell-wireless-gaming-headset-features-price

"While Razer, Logitech, and other companies are working on their 2023 gaming headsets, Audeze has announced its new Maxwell wireless model that starts at $299 with support for PlayStation, Windows, macOS, Nintendo Switch, and mobile — everything but Xbox. There’s an Xbox version that costs $30 more and makes up for some of the cost increase with a Dolby Atmos license that activates automatically. It’ll start shipping in late December 2022."

Do you have anywhere other than the Verge that said that?

Audeze's own website on that same date (12/8) said January

Go ahead, google. I googled and searched for all the info on the Maxwell as soon as I found out about them. EVERY tech site had the same boilerplate specs and info on the Maxwell, INCLUDING the late Dec shipping date. Check them all.

I did Google, everyone I clicked on says January except the Verge, including Audeze's own website. I'm guessing the Verge just got it wrong.

Perhaps some have updated their articles without saying so, but I read a bunch that said December, which got me all excited. I'm in the US so all my Google results then were in the US. I googled a lot because I wanted to find out any possible different detail some other site might have had. They all said late December for shipping - just like the Verge and these -

Pricing & Availability: Audeze Maxwell for Playstation will retail for $299, while Maxwell for Xbox will sell for $349 and comes with a Dolby Atmos license. Both versions support Windows, macOS, Android, iOS and Nintendo Switch. The first shipments are expected towards the end of December.

OK, looks like a couple more said December. Most said January from what I looked at. According to the Wayback Machine Audeze's own site said January, but I can see where the confusion came from if multiple sites were reporting December ship dates.

As far as I know, it was Early January/Late December when they announced. Jan 18th they said a few weeks for the PS to release and that is looking like Maybe Feb* 8th or so. I would just love a date, that'd be awesome.
