I had the Stealth 700 gen2, also Corsairs TOTL headphones, Arctis Nova 7x or something, I had a pair of good HyperX headphones and I returned all of them except the Nova, then sold that and went wired. When I got the Penrose in December I was like finally, a headset with the sound I want. But I returned that when I read about the Maxwells. So feeling good about the Maxwell. The Penrose crushed all the other headsets I tried before.Good to hear regarding the Turtle beach stealth 700 max. I've got the Stealth 700 gen2, which is sonically the same. I thought that was the best "gaming" headset for the Xbox -- excellent isolation, sounds great with Dolby Atmos for headphone, mic quality (although picks up a lot of background noise) and no dongle required.
Maxwell was a bit of an impulse buy because of it! Hope it's a full-blown upgrade.

I got lucky this time I had my Penrose for 23 months and it broke. The supplier couldn't replace it so had to give me a refund luckily the Maxwell got announced so I put that refund to good use.I had the Stealth 700 gen2, also Corsairs TOTL headphones, Arctis Nova 7x or something, I had a pair of good HyperX headphones and I returned all of them except the Nova, then sold that and went wired. That’s cool, good timing. I can’t wait for the Maxwell but I’ve only had the Penrose for a couple weeks so I am still enjoying my new temporary headset. It’s a top headset for sure mine saw some very heavy use before it finally gave in and the sound quality is phenomenal for a wireless headset. That’s cool, good timing. crushed it in what way?
The main way was it got loud enough. It had that one notch of extra volume that beat all the others. The SQ was also definitely a notch above. The bass slammed but was never overpowering, I could hear footsteps and everything well. It just had more impact than any of the other headphones overall, while still having a tight controlled sound, and that little bit of extra volume was definitely a big part of it.

So the Steelseries Nova 7 didn’t have anywhere close to the full rich body of sound the Penrose have, I was always changing the eq to have more bass and still keep the highs there. Overall they sounded like a cheaper speaker. The turtle beach stealth 700 have the low end the steelseries lacked but I found myself bringing the bass down really low as it was always overpowering everything and not giving me a balanced crisp sound. They also made the most plastic creaking noises if any headset I’ve ever used, I couldn’t move my face muscles or ears without the headset making plastic creaking sounds. I’m playing the last of us part two with the Penrose right now and it’s like a movie theater in my head. It’s almost like a 360 sound experience, everything in the game world sounds real and full and natural. The main way was it got loud enough. Hi, I have the Penroses too. And they are amazing.
A question about Penrose. Do you use a different equalizer or do you use the factory equalizer?
Thank you very much!

I preordered the Xbox version on 12/8 and Im very disappointed by all this. Can I change my order to the PS version and be included in the first shipment since I preordered early. Otherwise I think Im going to cancel. Seem like there's no light at the end of the tunnel for the Xbox version. I expected to have the Maxwell for Dead Space Remake.

I understand your frustration, but it also doesn't seem fair for people who ordered the PS version in the first place to be pushed back in line to make room for people switching their orders from the Xbox version either. But really that's probably a question to email Audeze about directly rather than posting here anyway

Hope shipment isn't too far off for the PS sets. Kind of crazy that they're all just sitting in a warehouse right now waiting for a software update.
I recall something similar happening with the Penrose.
