We believe our own learning curve has some input as well. Like with quality food, watches or cars, we learn how to appreciate them for what they are and start paying attention to small things. Audio is no different, the ability to notice subtleties in this hobby, how to make any sense of what's heard and later change things not quite right to our ears needs to be learned along the road. Once all that is in the works, setup changes are in order and wallets bleed

Hey! Nice response. The finer details in this hobby really do exist and of course Wallets must feel the release of paper massively to understand and experience those finer details. Although, some argue different. Their are some people that feel that just about any headphone can reach its full potential with mid range equipment.
There is always another side to the coin but in my experience even an Audeze XC sounds better on a Chord Qutest DAC than a midrange Mojo DAC.

Today I got a brand-new macro lens for my Nikon. The first subject that I chose is my beautiful XC with carbon headband and silver-copper ZMF cable.
XCs are not only amazing HPs, they are also beautiful!!!

You got it my friend and in my experience I think you really get what you pay for in the world of audio comparably throughout the different tiers. For example meZe empy’s Are 3000 roughly while the focal utopia and Audeze lcd 4 sit a good 1000 bucks more. I believe there is a reason for that, however I don’t agree with the pricing in general to buy Headphones these days.
The value of the LCD XC I think is quite a steal though compared to the price / performance you get.

I believe there is a reason for that, however I don’t agree with the pricing in general to buy Headphones these days.

Prices in our hobby went significantly up in comparison to what one could buy say a decade ago, but quality leap over the years is significant as well. Not possible to justify in case of each piece of audio hardware of course, but it's there.
