Noticed something a little different about my set.... the cups cable housing is black rather than chome like I see on most pictures online of the LCD-X.. the inspection date is 4/12/16.. Anyone else's look like this?

Yeah nice. Black is better than chrome. The chrome shows every finger print. Black is far more practical.

Mine were made in December and they have black cable attachments.

  Got the headphones today and have to admit... They do sound friggin amazing right out of the HA-2!!!

 
It honestly surprised the hell out of me, man...it's a ridiculously good pairing.

Just upgraded my system.
 
Previously I was using:
 

1. Schiit Asgard 2
2. Schiit Uber Bifrost
3. LCD-X

 
I bought the 4490 upgrade to my Bifrost.
 
And I bought the new Ember 2 amp from www.Garage1217.com.
 
The Ember 2 amp makes a serious difference with my LCD-X's. Really opens them up. Big difference.
 
The price is more than right. And it is far superior to my ears than the Asgard 2.

My LCD-X's sound like they have reached a whole new peak. And the amount of money it cost is... well, my wallet is happy and my ears are having eargasms.

Where did your order the suspension headband from? I'm really close to returning my LCD-X if I can't fix this headband issue without making it look like a monstrosity.

You can buy them directly from Audeze (you have to call) or from Adorma as I did.

Ive had it for a while now on my X...it makes a big difference yep. I posted some pics a few months back in this thread (or may have been the lcd4 thread)...ill PM them to you if you like.

I cant say whether the price will be worth it for u, but I find it a fantastic upgrade.

I was waiting to order mine for both my X and XC until they fixed the strap length issue they had with it.  As far as I know they have not started shipping the fixed bands yet.
