Audeze LCD-4

Haven't seen a single mention of a "failure" in this thread (which surely must be *the* definitive Audeze LCD-4 info dump on the entire internet) - unless you count some slight, induced buzzing way out of the normal range of use as a "failure" ...and I haven't heard mention of this anywhere else.

Maybe he meant "sonic deficiencies" when he said 'failures'...
I don't think enough people have these to have any actual failures pop up just yet!

If there were "sonic deficiencies" then that must have been the pre-production units....the production LCD-4s are in the top 3 headphones of all time that I've heard. My review in case you're interested, is in my sig.

I'm also a Maggie-Lover BTW (sold mine, but will own them again) for the Head-Fier on here that said he enjoyed hearing from other Maggie lovers about Audeze. That's part of the reason I fell in love with their planar cans: They felt like I was listening to my Maggies anywhere I went...

So in the meantime it's nice to hear from people that have it!

Right on! I'll never forget how excited I got when I found out planar headphones were actually a thing.

Care to name your top 10?

I was trying to be diplomatic...but here goes:

In no particular order :

SR-009
LCD-4
HE1000
HE Edition X
LCD-X
LCD-3
HD800
HE-6
T1 Generation 2
SR-007Mk1

Top three are as I mentioned before.

Listening to the hd800 out of the Teton would put it in your top 3.

I doubt it...the GS-X Mk2 is VERY good at showing me what the HD800s are capable of and anything else would be a colouration of what's there. I've heard them on some great other amps as well (both tube and SS through the years). Amps can't make up for the differences between the HD800s (which I hold in VERY high regard) and my top 3. Transducers can only make up this difference.
