Haha... I can imagine some people preferring the 400i to the 2C, but they must be hardcore classical fans. 2C just sounds so much more energetic, so much more fun. Not to mention build quality. Obviously it is just my opinion. With a response like that, who would ever want a 400i versus the LCD2-C? Damn, if I didn’t already own them?..... SOLD!!’

Time to time you come across these posts on different threads when some greenhorns* state they have reached 'end-game'.
If you are in this hobby for a few years you know, end-game does not exist.
What is end-game? a kgsshv-carbon with a Stax 009? Utopia with Liquid Gold? LCD4 with some insanely expensive SS amp?
Even if you could afford all of these, is that end game? This game never ends.
With our hearing we are blessed and cursed at the same time. We always want to experience something new that most other people are unable to really appreciate.
After a while you don't want better just different. (Within the same realm of quality of course.)
Therefore it is important to choose your gear according to your wallet and taste, and trying to enjoy it as long as possible.
The 2C is a fantastic value for money, it is a headphone that someone could enjoy for a long time.

I wonder what phones I'll buy next???
They might not exist just yet. Looking at the phase of new headphones coming out we might find something better in a year or so even if we don't look.I wonder what phones I'll buy next???

Patiently waiting for Wireless open back, with a charging dock. Meant for home use.
IMO wireless technology still has a good few more years to catch up in sound quality. For portable use they are alright and getting there (best of Sony and Bose wireless). But for home use full sized open back design headphones with wires still brutally destroy any wireless cans. We still have a good few more years of technical development to come before we can ditch wires at home as well.Patiently waiting for Wireless open back, with a charging dock. Meant for home use.

We just gotta get Elon Musk to think up a pair of headphones instead of building flame throwers when he gets bored

That is why I said "Patiently". I have an idea how far we are, and there are some good standouts, like Mobius? But it is not there yet. However other peripherals like my mouse Logitech G603. On par performance with any wired mouse and lasts 11 months on simple batteries. So we are getting there.
Also I do have an end game and that is my speakers.

Haha.. He is busy with getting high on live radio and more interested in launching cars to space instead of developing the headphones of the future. Its

I'm liking the LCD-2C more and more. Listening to some Emerson Lake and Palmer right now. These phones really do a great variety of music well to my tastes. I can't say I've found anything that does not sound good with them, even classical-ish music like Hans Zimmer's Time sounds awesome on these
Agreed. They are really good. For the price they are a killer.I'm liking the LCD-2C more and more. Listening to some Emerson Lake and Palmer right now. Unless you can afford to collect TOTL headphones these might be 'long-term end game headphones.'
If you really like their sound presentation you are better off investing in higher quality DACs and amps instead of even more expensive headphones.

I agree. I'm looking for a high quality delta sigma balanced dac, but am not sure if what I want. I think I'll probably go with something from benchmark, and also possibility get their new head amp if i really like the massdrop oneAgreed. They are really good. For the price they are a killer.

I am curious as well how the Lcd2c compair to the Mobius. I currently have them pre-ordered and was thinking about cancelling it to purchase the Lcd2c. I do a bit of gaming and a small amount of music, but idk if the 3D alone is worth it, not sure how often I would use it with 1 monitor. I currently have the hd58x, hd6xx, dt770, dt1990 I was thinking of selling a couple to buy the Lcd2c.
