Just ordered some new leather earpads from Audeze and they came with these "half moon spacers".

Do I still install these if I own an LCD2-F? My original pads did not have these spacers installed

they will fit on either side of the driver. It’s to help with preventing reflections off of the baffle.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if these were specific to a certain model or if we are supposed to put them on the LCD2 as well as mine never had any from factory.

That is a good question.. perhaps they're better suited to one model over another. But, damping acoustic reflections usually is a good idea.

These were just like for like replacements of my originals, wasn't aware of a newer revision. I guess as the pads lose shape and soften up over the years it alters the sound signature a lot more than you realise until you A\B with a new pair.

Audeze has updated their pads. There’s a chance your old ones were just extremely worn down.

Oh for sure - was just giving a heads up that if you buy a set used it may be worth investing in a new pair of pads.

My old pads did not look worn at all but the foam inside had softened which appears to have a noticeable impact on the bass response. More than I was expecting at least.

is it a deal breaker iyo if your ears gently touch the mesh inside the lcd-2 or any headphone for that matter? my ears ( right more then left) touch/graze the mesh slightly and i am not sure how i feel about that as i am not used to having something like that happen before

this is with the new pads, the old pad model i tried in the past did not have this issue

is it unreasonable to expect every headphone to completely not touch my ears even slightly? i am not sure as i dont know much about this matter

I’ve never had a headphone where this wasn’t an issue. The tips of my ears touch the fazors in the new LCD-2f as well... maybe the ZMFs or the Meze Empyrean would be a good fit but I’ve never had a chance to try either.

Normal. The variance depends on the pads usually as they're handmade so never perfectly equal. My right ear touched the fazors on my old pads and my left ear on the new pads.

If it bothers you, you can contact Audeze they will send you some spacers that go inside the pads and keep the drivers further from your ears.

Empyrian have a good cavity for ear and no fazors of course...but those cans, the audio imaging and dynamics were not good with them when I had them IMO. Not good value for money to my taste.

After more listening time I am finding a little EQ isn't a bad thing in the female vocal range. I'm open to EQ recommendations.

Here's what I've settled on so far... This is based off of @metal571's EQ profile but is pretty heavily altered. I'll include a link to his EQ settings below. I'm curious how you are coming along with developing an EQ for yours.
