You don't need anything super powerful, my mobile is typically my almost 5 year old galaxy s3 (256gb micro-sd) running neutron mp and a mojo and sounds amazing.

At home my computer is my source for everything out unless im watching a blu ray/dvd.

Get any lappy and your media program of choice as well as lots of storage to go with all your 24-bit flac!

Also it should have your preferred type of digital out for your setup.

Audirvana + just controls memory usage better, does not 'silence the CPU noise'.
Your external HD may be putting a lot of dirt into the audio chain background...
Are you saying you are plugging an LCD-2 straight into an Air (!) ?

If you are kicking the signal out to a DAC over USB, I recommend the iPurifier 2 to add-on.

Status on my order has not changed, but UPS just delivered my headphones. Its marked 'B-Stock Refurbished Headphone' on the box. Can't wait to get home and open it.

What type of LCD2 did you receive?

I called. They knew exactly what I was calling about. They are out of Wood. So, I opted for the Aluminum and he indicated that he would "try" and see about getting them out today (fingers crossed). It may be that they are working through repairs of the wood and trying to get those out the door. I've come to assume that I was getting the Aluminum anyway. Now... only if we had a 3rd party that was selling different types of wood rings for us to swap out (when the warranty is done of course). I mean... they do it for Wood cups on other headphones... why not these?

Someone contact "http://www.headphile.com/" and see if he can start making a few rings for those who want to swap.
