Audeze LCD-2 Impressions Thread

Here is the chronology (apologize for my english, I'm posting through iPhone as well)
1. I check with them to upgrade the connector from the wood straight to new metal angled connector, they quoted me the price and also inform that I need to pay shipping two ways.

2. I refused to do the upgrade (shipping fee is too much) and then I told them that I can feel static on the wood cup

3. As in my previous quote from email from them stated that they want to inspect my unit regarding the static and they agree to pay the return shipment so I agree to do the upgrade and send my LCD 2.2 to them right away

4. I notice about the Fazors upgrade so I made inquiry about this and they quoted me the price

5. Because of the price diff between Fazors upgrade vs Connector upgrade isn't much, I told them to cancel connector upgrade and do Fazors upgrade instead

6. Just before boarding for my holiday I got the email from my previous post. They have received my LCD and told me to pay the return fee.

From the previous post they stated that they want to do inspection whether I want to do any upgrade it doesn't matter. This is my understanding but maybe I got it wrong.
I just kept wondering about this in my flight. Such company with good reputation in this forum can treat customer like this, it is just unacceptable for me. Maybe it is acceptable for you guys, I don't know.

I think that they meant they would ONLY pay return shipping for the inspection, because they didn't do anything to it. WIth the fazor's being added, I think they wanted you to pay for shipping, since they did do something

or

I am completely wrong, and they didn't remember they said they would pay for return shipping. It also could've been a different employee from both message's, so the other one didn't realize that they were supposed to pay shipping both ways.

Not trying to discredit others, but I just had an amazing customer experience with Audeze. I bought mine secondhand, but they were new in Dec 2013. Unfortunately, there is a broken wire in the strain relief at the HP jack of the cable. I contacted Audeze on the off chance that they might help me out and they agreed to send me a replacement cable for no charge and even emailed me the frequency chart for my pair without me asking.

I'm continually impressed with the customer service from some of the companies in this industry.

wow...thats amazing, i might ask hifiman to reconstruct the wire connectors on the cups of the HE6...n see what i get :p

it seems they r willing to check the said fault at their expense... ( in case it is a mfr fault..)
but if the consumer wants to escalate it into an upgrade finally, then it is taken to be business as usual, customer pays both ways. The checking is superseded by the upgrade....Maybe this wasnt clearly communicated.

Nope, clearly in the email they said it is free return ship whether I do any updrage or not. If it was not they wouldn't offer me to do the upgrade.

Just wondering if anybody has used the leather care kit offered by Audeze and if they thought it is worth while using?

Here is what Audeze sells in smaller bottles:

http://www.amazon.com/Howard-LC0008-Leather-Conditioner-8-Ounce/dp/B006MZHLZ4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1400216138&sr=8-1&keywords=howards+leather+conditioner

Way cheaper too.

I have bought it and used in the past on my LCDs. Good stuff. Lately I prefer Lexol.

I hope your situation resolves all for the best, kupleh.
if I recall from an older post you prefer dynamics right? If so, how are you enjoying these audezes?

  Thanks,

If I buy LCD2's I wll reserve 600$ for amp and dac.

Difficult to go for Lyr because all Schiit products get inspected by customs and charged huge duty

Audi GD is releasing NFB11 ES9018 AMP/DAC, Can it be any good with LCD2's ?

Or which Audio GD pairs well with LCD2? they have many products and I am confused.

Not specifically, I just didn't have planars before and hadn't heard any properly amped.

I bought HE-500s first and really like them, but the LCDs are on a whole new level to my ears - loving them!

Still have my T1s too so now I split time between the two.

Thanks!

If Magni Pairs well with LCD2, then definitely O2/ODAC will also synergize well

Do LCD2 really benefit when they go balanced? There is noticeable difference?

The Magni puts out twice as much power as the O2. I would always go with the Magni over the O2.
