    The sound of the LCD-2s simply drags me back in again and again..lifting my entire spirit and soul. But it really is just so darn heavy..and given that I have shoulder/neck problems I really might just have to sell them :/ I'm not sure, and I'm afraid of the long term problems it may enforce. 
    I have to put it this way, after the breakin of the lambskin pads, and the good weight distribution, they arn't bad comfort wise, and sometimes I don't even feel that they are on me, it's only when I take them off, stretch my neck and roll it around that I feel the pain. I got a massage the other day, and the messus was able to feel a lot of strain on my neck.! ...which caused excrutiating pain when she pressed on it btw.
     
    I'm really trying to decide if I should opt for something else now given its hefty properties...simply because of the issues that may arise in an unforseeable future.

    SP Wild, if you're interested in the planar sound, you might want to look for used Quads. IIRC, there's a very well-regarded restorer down there. Quads are very well regarded and give you some better amping options (e.g. tubes, if you're into them) than the stiff solid state amps Maggies need. You might also look around for a used AMT (ESS made several models) and if DIY interests you, a Linkwitz Pluto or Orion might fit the bill.

    Honestly your neck muscles will get used to the weight, if you haven't excercised a particular muscle for an extended period of time, then that muscle hates you when you finally decide to put it to good use thus you will feel sore for a few days afterwards. Once you've gotten over the initial soreness you aren't going to feel any more pain. Just think of it as weight training on your neck.

    Nods, your head's muscle structure is actually a very strong.  Combined with the natural support purpose of the spine, it shouldn't be an issue.  Helmets weigh much more as does wet hair :wink:

     I will give it a shot for a little longer. I have been using these for about a month and a half now, and its still pretty bad. Hopefully it goes away..

    I would contact some real expertise. Driving some trucks at times and the neck is really not that strong. Especially not if you look upwards you get pain in no time then together with having the neck constantly bent to have an idea where you are going. May be a real issue.

    works for me and googling 'neck strengthening excercises' also brings up quite a few results.
