Hello Everyone. I just bought a brand new Audeze Deckard "display unit" at Best Buy for the deal of the century - $250. They wanted $400, but the salesman told me to "make an offer'. Unbelievable. It is absolutely mint. I love it. The sound is warm and clean. I have it connected via Audioquest Forest USB to Audioquest Jitterbug to my Mac. I listen with Sennheiser 650's and Thinksound O2's. Does anyone have any thoughts about the Deckard? I think Audeze has discontinued making it. If so, I wonder why. I'll never, ever, ever sell this gem.

While I definitely think that the Deckard is a wonderful-sounding amp, I don’t think the mainstream audio enthusiast community has gotten to the point that headphone setups provide such a tremendous amount of sound quality that requires such a relatively much smaller amount of space, all for a relatively much smaller price. Will they ever even get to that point? I am not sure.

Really, Audeze was not making enough money off of this amp to continue production. However, they continue to make new products, so keep your eyes peeled to what they will unveil in the future.

Wow $250 is a great deal. I paid twice as much from BB not too long ago. Still a great amp for the $$

I'm still in shock that the manager agreed to my offer of $250. I truly could not believe the salesman said "make an offer" when I demurred on the $400 they were asking. One of the best deals I've ever got. I think it'll become a collectors item too - it's not in production anymore.
