I'm hoping for these improvements in the CRBN 2.

Wider and more holographic soundstage
Better detail retrieval (Confirmed to be the most resolving Audeze ever, but as detailed as the 009S?)
More top end extension
Better bass quality (Whilst there is more bass on the original CRBN than the Stax 009/S, the quality/definition was lacking in comparison)
Better instrumental timbre

It looks to me like the bronze piece of the cup might be a spacer vs the original. there is a modification that is sometimes done on lambdas to improve eq and soundstage - pretty interesting.

Sounds also like the “SLAM” technology might have a resemblance to the 007 air baffling. I’m thinking this was a way around having the overzealous farting occur lol

Honestly, if it could just be compatible with more energizers, that'd be nice.
Could you clarify what you meant by this? The CRBN uses the Stax Pro bias and is compatible with any amp/energizer that accepts Stax Pro bias headphones. It's compatible with basically any Stax amp from the past 30 years.

I think it was relating to the driveability of the original CRBN. It's quite hard to drive and Jude said the CRBN 2 sounded better on a mid level Stax amp than any amplifier he heard with the CRBN.

Yeah, good point - I've tried the CRBN on a buuuuunch of STAX-compatible energizers, but the only one I really felt it sounded _great_ on was the iFi energizer thingy and one STAX amp which I can't remember the name of right now :/

And I'm not talking _physically_ compatible with, I mean acoustically compatible with
None of the Stax amps are worth their price point. That’s why the KG builds have become so favorable.
I’ve found that the easier to drive Stax have a more shrill tone - yet the older Stax that need the juice to wake up (LNs, omega, 007) have a much richer fuller sound. The CRBN 1 was like this.

For me, the bolded parts are what's critical in a second version. I'm very happy to see them pursuing it, as they were really, really close to something special for a stat. Mainly, if they can expand the holographic nature of the staging and imaging and keep everything else the same, they will have a major win on their hands. We shall see and I hope so!

I’ve seen an MSRP of $6000.
That’s a considerable price rise, from $4500.
I purchased a CRBN b-stock for ~$2850 directly from Audeze. It was a disappointment (for that price as well).
I hope they improved it considerably, also taking into account the updated price.

We’ll see/hear…

I'd agree to all points except
"More top end extension "
I certainly don't want it to sound bright like Stax

What does that mean?
I know people sometimes talk about synergy, do you mean synergy so bad that you'd classify it as not compatible?

Hard to imagine any amp to be like that unless it's defect

I was afraid this might happen and discussed it in pms.
If they want to say "this is our answer to X9000" they will also price it at that level.

That would be at least 7.2k€ over here...

Where have you seen this price?
