What issue did you have with Creative drivers? I've had an X-Fi for a long time now and have no issues on Vista or XP and that is analog and digitial out into an EMU 0404. They fixed the digital out issue a long time ago. Probelm with 3rd party drivers is that they usually suck in games. If you don't play games with EAX then I guess it is a non issue.

My card tends to have audio drop out and lag while doing mundane tasks like surfing the internet. I've checked the IRQs and everything and I have never been able to fix this issues until now. It's not 100% perfect, but it's a lot better than with Creative's drivers.

This sounds like you have a compatibility issue between the sound card and your particular motherboard. Which motherboard are you using in your system?

Also, try moving the sound card to another slot and see if that clears the problem (unless you've already tried that).

Try updating your bios and MB drivers and audio drivers and disabling your on board audio also. Also make sure your copy of windows is completely up to date and your video drivers.

Don't worry, I've done everything listed above and finally got fed up today.

Bought a new, faster processor (AMD Phenom 9850), 8 GB RAM, and a new mobo (ASUS M3A78 Pro) so hopefully everything works out better.
