Since you have a large head - assume you don't have neck fatigue from the weight of these phones.

Not sure if it matters, but I'm 6'0 and have a normal sized head. I've been using the ZMF Omni's for a few hours a day since March and haven't had any issues about neck fatigue after my first week of getting used to them. YMMV

If I recall correctly the first run has a transferable lifetime warranty whereas the second run has a short 1 year warranty. 

Can anyone comment on how the Eikon/Atticus fit on large heads? The LCD-2 barely fit me (unless I cut my hair in which case it was more bearable) and when I added the the lohb strap the extended yokes were necessary.

My head is fairly big, and I haven't found space to be a problem at all.

Reading all this, and never heard of the zmf house sound... but it looks, sounds to me that Atticus / Eikon sounds like B&W P7? Perhaps more so with the Atticus?
I don't know, just reading based on the description... P7's bass is fairly deep, but I am not basshead, and I think sony's mdr-1a's bass is too strong but a bit bloated. the Mids on P7 is forward and treble also has its presence
If some one can shed some light comparing to the sound of P7 to Atticus / Eikon, maybe that will help me pick 1
 
I've also heard ath-msr7 and focal listen, so that sound signature can be compared as well, so I have some clue

@zach915m, I have a question/concern for you about wood as a cup material. You I know are quite knowledgeable where wood is concerned so by all means correct me when I make a mistake here. So my concern is that wood does not stay the same after it dies, it begins to change. Given that it can and does change, although I'm sure there are species differences, how might these changes effect the sound signature over time, and perhaps more importantly for people who live in climates that experience massive humidity changes such as where I live, what impact might this have. Thanks Zach, really interested in your thoughts.

Yeah you're totally right!  The main concern is humidity, so I do advise owners not to place their headphones in a spot that has high humidity (by the shower) or low humidity (next to your heater).  If you do live in an environment where humidity is really high or low over an extended period, just place the headphone it its case when you are not using it.  I
 
The above is actually a secondary concern to me though, as the primary concern is to make sure the wood we get is kiln dried to at the very least under 15%, and then to machine the cups to be thick enough so that minor environmental changes don't have a change of the structure.  If the wood is dry enough, it will react less to moisture changes in the environment.  Because we've been so careful about this I've had to deal with very few issues regarding the wood.  The largest issue with any of the t50 models is the plastic clam-shells that hold the sliders breaking.  I can't tell you how happy I am that the new models have no plastic parts!
 
Oh - another thought, we also seal all the wood before finishing it, so that no moisture can get into the pores.  So, the wood is really quite stable once you get the headphone.

These products were the preferred choice of high-end log home builders as well as cabinet makers. Essentially they modify natural plant oils so that the protection is inside the wood so you get the best of oil penetration with water borne cleanliness/ease of application. They have a fantastic line of products for cabinet makers so you may be interested in them and I know they have US dealers. I'm no longer working with in that field at all so I have no skin in the game, but I just thought I would mention it in case you are ever looking for such things. The website: www.sansin.com
