ATTICUS and EIKON, the new dynamic driver headphones from ZMF

I have the Teak.  I don't have the Omni, but do have the Vibro.  I've demo'd the Omni, Atticus and Eikon.

If you didn't like the TH-X00 because of the treble, I can say the Teak are better and less bright - but not by much.  They're more similar than not.  This might be a detractor for you.

I have never heard a bad or bright treble note out of a ZMF headphone.  This may be a case where you have to apply giant amounts of willpower and save up for the Atticus or Omni.   I think you'd enjoy that more, to be honest.

This is EXACTLY what I needed to hear (it gives me perspective).  Thanks for your very insightful comments, @ProfFalkin & @Mojo65!

We are working on the ZMF amp still which is Single Ended Triode, we hope to officially announce it by the end of the year.

Oh damn, so soon already? That's great news, was planning on buying a Valhalla 2 to fill the OTL void I'm currently experiencing but I may just wait if you're already so far along with your own amp!

@zach915m do you have any pictures of the paudak with " glossy factory finished" look vs.heirloom? Thanks

The only sprayed set I have right now is a Matte one we are making for e earphones as a sample.  The color is a little less intense with the spray as the varnish brings out the color of padauk more, but it is hand wiped varnish so the surface feels more matte.  All the pics so far re of the hand wiped varnish.  The trade off for the less intense color is a smoother surface.  It's minor though, most people in person seem to favor the varnish.

Well, there's a little ways to go but I think we're close.  It sounds great we're just finishing up the last 3% really.  The cost will be somewhere in the 1K range, not sure exactly how much yet need to calculate costs etc.

Understandable, that's the price range I imagined you'd be shooting for so I'm glad it is within reach for me after a few months of saving up, I appreciate your willingness to disclose a rough potential amouth - no doubt you'll do a fantastic job with it, I'm sure the hard work will pay off once it is fully ready.

Very excited to see what comes of it!

No opinion?

My thought is to order both, get the discount, and if I decide they're not substantially different to just keep the one I prefer.
