ATTICUS and EIKON, the new dynamic driver headphones from ZMF

Hey zack is upgrading/canceling possible after ordering?

I ordered the cherry ekion, not only because it was cheaper, but if the zmf omni was any indication it would possibly be more airy/have larger stage than the paudak (at the expense of speed). It was really harder for me to choose what I preferred, so I might change my mind later.

Eikon/Paduak & Atticus/Cherry here. Plan is to use the former mostly with classical and the latter with vocal music where I prefer a lusher perspective. Interesting to see how both do with "harder" music (rock, metal, etc.). May end up getting rid of my HD800S and LCD-X depending.

What amp does everyone plan to run the headphones with?

Oppo HA-1 here.

Are Eikon and Atticus different enough to justify both? The extra, $150 off makes the Atticus a good price if bought too.

Thanks all! I had no idea where to start on the amp since all I've ever used is amps suitable for low impedance headphones.

I haven't heard this but based on impressions it's a little laid back with the HD800 so how would that be with these?

I'm going to try them on my Woo WA2, and likely later a WA22.

I was debating between a WA6-SE and a Mjolnir 2 but was indecisive.
How do you like your WA2?

I'll go for the Eikon. I plan to use it with an Audio-GD NOS 11

I should really try Audio-GD sometime soon.

Oppo HA-1 here.

Thanks!

Mjolnir 2 with '75 Reflektor Russian tubes and others.

I have always been heavily leaning towards a WA6-SE or the Mjolnir 2, I look forward to your impressions.

Pathos Aurium, Mjolnir 2, Jotunheim, Woo WA7. Guessing the best pairings will probably be the Aurium and the Jotunheim (given how well it does with the HD650s), they're the two I use the most right now anyway (former at home, latter at the office).

That said I haven't put in my order yet unfortunately, gotta squeeze out some more dosh before I can afford them haha. Good thing Zach's kind and has given uss a long time frame to pre-order (thanks again dude, hope you are well).

Wonder how long it will take to sell out the first run?

FWIW the Audio GD Master 11 and Decware UFO (formerly Taboo) were my two main amps while tuning these.  Tons of other amps will work awesome but that's what my go-to's in the shop were.

We are working on the ZMF amp still which is Single Ended Triode, we hope to officially announce it by the end of the year.
