I was getting ready to propose one myself, but the transmission in my car just died this afternoon.

Our last big meet was this past January, and as far as I know there have only been 2 mini meets since then, so we are definitely due for something. Come on team Atlanta don't be shy!

Ok, so we have at least 5, thats a good start. I'm thinking maybe a month or so from now, say November 3rd (a Saturday)? If anyone can host, feel free to speak up, I may be able to get something on campus here, but its not guaranteed.

Never being one to allow complete ignorance of a subject keep me from having an opinion, it seems any big room with tables, folding chairs, and available power outlets should do the job. Of course, and a place to put the pizzas!

The connecting dining room & living room in my house are barren, which is good for a meet, but I lack tables & chairs. Having rented/reserved a conference room for other functions before, I suspect this would be the way to go. Any college student wanting to do this *may* be able to reserve a good room through their university for free (depending on institutional policy).

Barring that, I *may* be able to make a huge physics laboratory available (complete with lab benches, bench stools, power outlets, & separate table for pizza!) for the meet, assuming the space is needed. Not the most comfy environment, but extremely functional. I'll have to see if I can do this without any administrative red tape, but I am willing to try if folks are willing to come to Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta (I am a faculty member there).

What do the rest of you folks think? I suspect a standard conference room may be more 'homey', but I am fairly sure I can provide an alternative large, functional space that should almost certanly suit our needs. It is just more cold, sterile, & impersonal.

Discuss!

So what are we talking about? 10-20 people?

Okay, so far we have

* BigAmish's cold and impersonal, yet large and practical, academic setting at Southern Tech.

* BigAmish's home where we sit on the floor.

* Sleeplessness' conference room in Sandy Springs (if available). Is this at your place of work?

* I can research conference room costs near Roswell/Alpharetta.

What else?
