I am new to the world of audiophiles and the only notable pair of headphones I've owned were the Audio Technica ath-M30 and Skullcandy skullcrushers(I got a crappy broken pair from my friend). I have tried my friend's Denon D-2000's and love them. I think it's time to buy new headphones and was considering the (you guessed it!) M50, but the M50s is rated #2 over ear headphones and I'm just wondering what the difference is besides the straight cable.

Basically what I want to know is what the difference is and if the price difference is worth it.

The straight versus coiled cable is the only difference. Get whichever is cheaper unless you have a strong preference.
