apparently these came out a few weeks ago on August 26th but I missed it then.

limited edition version of the EW9 , available only through audio-technica's online shop....

a few more pictures if you click through a bit here

I wouldn't mind getting a pair... maybe I will during the winter break. I think I like the look of this over the regular EW9, and it would be interesting to hear the differences in the sound if there are any.

(I got the model number from the online shop if anyone is wondering)

21,000 yen including tax

you can get it here and of course (at least I am fairly sure of it... haven't seen anything otherwise) be aware that they only deliver to locations within japan.

ordering is like ordering from your ordinary online store other than they use Sagawa Express for shipping being that they deliver to japanese addresses... and you can pay the courier in exchange for the goods at the time of delivery in addition to the usual payment options like credit cards.

just wondering 2 things... What is the cost (in yen - for comparison) of the standard EW9's? and also is there any changing in the designs other than the wood used that may influence the sound they put out?

thanks

Very nice look, but I think I still like the Soverign's better. Close though, very close.

the standard EW9 goes for 19,000 yen or so (with tax, but not including store credit or price breaks) and the difference between the two models should only be the difference in the wooden enclosure and the gold-plated screws that secure the wooden enclosure on the limited model.
