These have generated a bit of a buzz around here as basically being higher-end, 'woodied' ES7's. As exciting a prospect as that is, it's been dampened a little by the tall retail price of 37,800 yen, roughly $310~$320, though I'm not quite sure what the exchange rate is these days.

Well, I was scrolling through Amazon.co.jp today and found the ESW9's listed for as low as 27,000 yen new, which is more like $225 - much more affordable!

Here's the link:

They go on sale on the 19th - it's worth noting that while it's pricey, Amazon Japan can ship to the USA!

Now that is a much more reasonable price. I have the ATH ES7s (and enjoy them tremendously) and if they are a better version of that, then I am Sold.

They have newly developed 42mm neodynium drivers, African Paduak Cups and Lambskin Earpads. Mmmmmmmmm.

Nope, African Paduak. Says so on the site.
About time they started trying some other stuff!

Do they really ship overseas?
It says under shipping info that they cannot be shipped outside Japan.

I bought a bunch of Japanese books and magazines from Amazon Japan this summer and had them shipped to Colorado. Unless they have a different policy for electronics it should be possible.

Some items just can't be ordered from overseas it seems. I remember running into it when I wanted to buy an out-of-print CD a while back, which was only available from a marketplace seller who I suppose didn't ship outside of Japan.

Looks like cherry tree in my opinion.

I checked the A-T website, absolutely gorgeous pics !!!
Except for the "french spirit" ("Le Luxe" or the glass of white wine...), so caricatural and not classy when you're french

Luxury doesn't need any accessory.
