Hey all- I have it narrowed down to these two. I'm wondering which set of cans would sound more musical for primarily classical and jazz, then rock. I'm more concerned with them being euphonious than accurate.

I would like to be able to take them with me and pull them out at the local coffee shop without them being giant--are the Denon's "portable"?

Thanks in advance!

Hi!

If it's only for classical/jazz grab Denon...

(you will not see me saying this this often, cause I really love ES7, but for Class/Jazz they are not the best you can get... ...)

[can't believe i adviced someone other than ES7.. .. ]

I own both and find that the es7 have a more aggressive sound signature compared to the somewhat warm sound of the d1000. I'd prefer the d1000's for classical/jazz over the es7. Both headphones are great in their own way, especially the es7 and electronica based music. The comfort of the denon's are far superior to the es7 imo, however, I don't find the es7 uncomfortable at all. It's really just a circumaural vs supra aural preference.
