Hello guys
I'm audiophile noob ,my story is that I need a headphone for
1- Competitive gaming, I play Pubg , fortnight , apex legend and CC:GO so good sound-stage and excellent imaging ( footstep picking) is a priority for me
2- Open world games like Witcher and Skyrim and causal music listening so again here immersion and good music quality is a big plus for me
I know the first choice will negate the second one to some extend so finding one headphone to fulfill my requirement is almost impossible and to make thing worse my budget is around 220$, i did read so many reviews and watched a lot of videos about headphones , I'm not audiophile by all means, I just enjoy good quality music
I thought about the following headphones
· tygr 300r but I cannot get one since I live in Africa.
· DT 990, the mixed review about this headphone just let me want to cry and torn my hair.
· HD 560s, it 199$ and since i have desktop Smason q2u , I do not need a mic for it but I'm not sure about competitive gaming aspect of it.
- DT 880, I think it has consistent good reviews but the need of an amp/dac will be out of my budget.
- hifiman he400i 2020- hmmm, I find myself inclined to this but not sure about the competitive gaming aspect. i guess it also needs amp/Dac
- pc38c , wow those sponsored reviewer and youtubers are insanely praise it , you know what I'm talking about , on the other hand the rest are not , even in imaging and accuracy perspective , I have canceled my order with drop after watching that ,170$ is not justified I believe. I know DMS gave it a good review and he is not sponsored on that video but still I’m skeptical about this headset.
So I come do conclusion why not I pick two headphones within my budget that will just fulfill my requirement and specifically I'm talking about ATH-AD700X for pure competitive gaming and KPH30i for enjoying music listening and open world game immersion ( may be entry level audiophile arena , do not know ) they cost together around 150$, what do you think guy ? I'm open for better recommendation and I really need sold advice to end my confusion and torn.
