i have been resaearching the ad 700's for quite some time now. i have been contemplating buying a new gaming setup since i have saved up 7000 dollars. i was thinking of buying the astro mixamp, ath ad700's, and the dealextreme mini mic. i just now stumbled on the ath ad500's which is weird because i have been looking at audio technica headphones for a month.
 
has anyone had any experience with these for gaming and should i save the 20 bucks or just get the 700's? what is your reasoning?

The AD300 and AD500 are just lower end models of their open backed headphones in the "AD" series.

If you want a very broad soundstage for gaming, get the AD900's.

The price difference is small.  You're better off with the AD700.

impedance has nothing to do with how much bass the headphones produce
