I am looking to buy some A700s, but one thing that I have noticed is that the ones I have found online at amazon and the such look vastly different than the ones displayed on the AT website and at headphone.com.

Did these phones undergo a major redesign, and, if so, does it affect the sound?

blue one is the correct A700.

I don't know what the flat-looking dark one is.

I've seen the blue one before too, but the black one is what you get when you click on A700 on Audiotechnica's website.

if you look close at the hi res image you'll see the blue flecks. it's just the way the photo was taken; reflection. they are all the same phones. i like mine.

I don't think so. I see what you mean about the color but look at the other pics on headphone.com. The blackish looking ones are much flatter and are much shinier than the blue ones.

When I last saw an A700, it looked like these:

I've never seen anything that look like the Amazon's pic in real-life.
